| When opening the Equipment window, the items on the left side (Hat, Body, Accessory, Effect) have upgrade slots while the items on the right side (Ammo, Grapple, Backpack) do not.

| Items with upgrade slots can be improved by using Upgrade Gems, which have a 100%([[Green Upgrade Gem|Green]]) / 60%([[Blue Upgrade Gem|Blue]]) / 10%([[Red Upgrade Gem|Red]]) chance to succeed in upgrading the item with better stats. Even if the Upgrade Gem fails the item's upgrade slot will be taken up, so good luck!
